What do you do when your heart is broken in a million pieces and grief has overcome you?
When I preached this message, I had no idea that my father would die a couple of months later. He was preparing my heart for the grief I was going to experience!
The I Am series is about the emotions people experienced when they encountered Jesus after His resurrection. Mary Magdalene was grieving the death of Jesus. Like Mary, many of us experience grief over loss. Grief is a multifaceted response to loss. It is the suffering we feel when we lose someone or something, we love.
·Grief can happen over death a person we love, over a broken relationship, over the loss of our health, over the loss of a job or home, over the idea that our children will never receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
For myself, I’ve experienced the loss of a dream. I heard God, I moved forward in faith, and I failed miserably. Then anger with God set in, I refused to speak to Jesus and He wouldn’t give up on me.
When I preached this message, I had no idea that my father would die a couple of months later. He was preparing my heart for the experience I was going to experience.
God not only heals the grief in your past, but he prepares you for the grief you will endure in the future!
